hi class this is a quick run-through of what an APA paper should look like at the beginning this is your title page one you should have headers so the very first page should say running head semicolon notices capitalized small caps and in here this is all caps this is actually the title of your paper and if the title would be longer than what would fit here then you will need to abbreviate the title so you can shortened version of the title you should have page numbers here on the right of you header so then but the middle of the page you should have your title you should have your author or authors just your names and then the university or yeah educational institution that you’re affiliated with okay if you want to put any kind of author notes you can put it right there too below the low end of the title page so this it’s can be put there so any kind of additional information you want included on your title page should be put right here as an author note and so as you notice again the header here changes to simply having the title again all caps and then the page number continues now an APA paper should have an abstract and you put abstract there’s no indentation and and this is basically a quick summaries with what the papers about so that if somebody was to pick up your paper and read the abstract they would know the gist of your paper you can list key words there it should be no longer than 250 words so this is not meant to be very long to be a paragraph or so then your paper starts somewhere on the third page we have again the title is right here and then there’s an indentation and the first paragraph starts now I do want you to note that you’re supposed to have citations whether where the information comes from so here’s one of them to authors and year and he talks about you know different things here and and here’s another one and here’s if if you prefer some paraphrased it or quoted it you can also put it in parenthesis so here’s your authors and date so continue on pages and pages so note that’s done the head are still there again all the paragraphs are indented everything’s double spaced it is in Times New Roman 12 points and some continues continues you can do some headings here they have two this is level one and then this is level two so basically heading in some heading if you will if you need to do those and go on to the rest of the paper okay then here’s your reference page so again head are still there with the page numbers you should tell it references and then you should have authors date and then usually is the title of the article and ended journal and volumes and pages now if you’re using electronic sources and websites and stuff like that then this should be so it should be your author or corporate author should be the date and if you don’t have a date you should use that your access date and then you would have here instead of the title of the article it would be the title of the web page and then this is the top would be instead of the journal and be the title of the website and so the website would be for example like the CDC is a website but the CDC’s got thousands of pages the web page may be for example information on the flu and so your your title of your webpage could be influenza but the title of the website would be the Center for Disease Control so that’s your references again note that’s there’s the it’s de’lon here is flush but this is indented and it is all double-spaced still still in the same font as the rest of the paper so also it is alphabetical by order of a order author alphabetically it’s important to has to be put in revised formats
